As a new rose grower, I wanted to make my own compost to fertilize them. Hayneedle was recommended as a good company and I ordered from them right away. It arrived on the day- as promised and we put it together the next day.

Unfortunately, we discovered that the recycled plastic was wraped and for the next 3 1/2 hours we struggled to get the four sides of it fit snugly together. The lid also had a chip in one corner but won't be too big of a problem, I hope.

It is a perfect size for my small gardening use and the instructions on how to begin composting are very helpful. Maybe it was unusual to get one so warped--but it was frustrating to say the least, and today our backs and legs keep reminding us of our difficulty putting it together yesterday.

The program required I give at least one star, that's too many! This flimsy thing arrived bent, warped, broken, and is just poorly made! Hayneedle did make it easy to return. Full refund and I didn't even have to return it. That's when I knew it was junk!

I had a previous composter, same manufacturer, works great. compost breaks down quickly, easy to aireate. ease of removing composted materials with the slide doors on the bottom. The only con is that this composter has no bottom and living rural, the rodents tunnel in. Keeps the hounds out of the composting bin though!

To start, this is not an American made product, though it is made from post-consumer recycled materials - A BIG PLUS. Since some of my pieces were warped, assembly was difficult. The piece is flimsy and we'll see how well it performs.

This seems to be a solid built composter. You can't place too much yard waste in it that takes a long time to break down, or you'll just end up with an unusable box full of leaves. But, it seems like once I fill it up it will have enough production and capacity to handle my typical household waste.
