I was really quite surprised and pleased when I saw what a sturdy, quality, and handsome potting bench this turned out to be! I absolutely love it! But.....it took my husband and I 4 hours to assemble it! Unfortunately, none of the pieces are numbered/lettered which would have made this chore much easier. (That was a suggestion! Hint!) And just the exact amount of screws so don't drop or loose one! The wood is all sanded and smooth with a nice colored stain. I definitely reccommend this awesome bench but only to patient assemblers! And, its almost too nice to put outdoors!

OK, first off, I want to make sure that everyone understands that I'm not slamming Hayneedle; they did the right thing, and the only thing they could do. I ordered this potting bench, and after getting it about halfway together, realized something was wrong - they packaged it with two left front legs, so of course, it wasn't going to go together. Pursuant to the instructions, I called the manufacturer, who told me that they didn't carry individual parts, and that I'd have to contact the company I ordered it from. I contacted Hayneedle, and they did the only thing they could - shipped me a brand new bench so I could retrieve the correct part, then ship the new bench back. Sounds to me like they shouldn't deal with the potting bench company at all, since they wouldn't be a bit of help anyway. So, praise to Hayneedle, as I didn't have to pay for the bench a second time or the shipping return, and overall this bench is pretty once together. The only reason I wouldn't recommend the bench is based on the manufacturer's role (or lack thereof) in this whole thing.

Better quality wood than expected having purchased online. Assembly was quite easy. Parts are well designed for a novice to put together... Our bottom shelf arrived slightly damaged, but was very easy to fix without concern for future problems.

I would like to revise my review from yesterday. The bench I was shipped had two left front legs and so couldn't be assembled. The assembly directions clearly stated to contact the vendor not the retailer to obtain missing parts. When I emailed (the suggested method of contact) I received a reply stating they don't stock parts and I would have to contact the retailer, Hayneedle, which I did. Hayneedle was wonderful and did everything they could to rectify the situation in the manner most convenient to me. After I got everything worked out with Hayneedle, I got an email from the vendor stating they had contacted the mfg and the missing leg is going to be shipped to me directly. So it turns out both parties worked with me to make me whole. I can't thank Hayneedle enough for the fair and competent manner in which they handled this.

Wood is beautiful, stain is rich color - almost too pretty to dirty. Compact size with extensions down, but plenty of room with the counter space extended. I believe there are mention of hooks...buy some to install to hang tools. Great use of space and an attractive piece of furniture on your patio. Great value in comparison.

The order came really fast. Overall, the assembly went smoothly. Instructions are not the best but it took my husband and myself about an hour to sort it out. Very sturdy and only one plastic washer was missing from the box. The drawers are a bit hard to open but not an issue. Great Purchase - PERFECT

Overall I really like this potting bench. I primarily ordered this because it was the only one I could find that was small enough to fit where I wanted it to go. I contacted customer service before purchasing the bench to inquire about the size with the wings down. The staff was as helpful and courteous as could be. The wood seems to be nice and heavy, and it does not seem cheaply made. The only issue I have is that the top of it arrived damaged. It did not seem to be damaged in transit, and it was well-packaged to ship. It appears that the top was damaged before it was ever packaged. Rather than to pack it back up and pay shipping to send it back I decided to keep it and will try to use some wood filler and stain to try to fix it.
