1 Potting bench
Why put yourself in the dirt when you could do your gardening from the standing position and stay clean. The Fir Wood Folding Potting Bench is constructed of weather-resistant fir so it'll handle the weather beautifully. However, that's not too much of an issue considering this potting bench folds up for easy storage. That means you can tuck it away in the garage for the winter, extending its life.
This may be a smaller bench, but it's full of storage. There's a towel bar on top for supporting hanging baskets, and the lattice back can be used for dozes of tools on hooks. A generous, slatted work surface makes your work easy, and a full-size storage shelf below will store bags of soil, pots, watering cans and more.

This actually has 2 functions. I needed a work bench to put all my flower pots, potting soil and garden tools. It really works great. I get everything off the deck and in it's place on the bench. The second thing that this is very useful for is to hide the furnace & hot water heater exhaust pipes coming out on the back deck. I put the work bench right in front of them and the pipes go between the upper and lower shelves, hiding those big ugly pipes. And I now have someplace to work on my plants instead of on my glass tables on the deck.

It was easy to put together once I could figure out the drawing. I did it backwards, but just had to leave it that way as I had already screwed in some braces. The wood is soft, so the screw sink well into the wood and once in, I didn't want to unscrew. Sturdy overall, but was a little disappointed with the color....very orange!!!

Comments about Foldable Wood Potting Bench:
I'm very pleases with this bench on a whole. The only problem that I had was that some of the smaller screw holes were not pre-drilled or started which hindered the assembly time.I also believe that the instructions(pictures) were a little larger..

It was easy to assemble (for two people, one could not do it alone but that's OK) and I LOVE the way it looks!!!!

Comments about Foldable Wood Potting Bench:
This is very great value for the money. I found it looking for plans to make such a bench. I concluded I would have trouble making it for less than Hayneedle's price.
I suggest adding flat washers where the legs attach to the bench top. They will ease in folding and unfolding while adding rigidity to the bench because it will permit tightening those 4 bolts.
Classy enough to use for outdoor entertaining if you keep it clean.

Q1: Is this rough wood or is there a stain on it?
A: The supplier states that this is natural fir with a light stain applied.
