Aquila Cedar Products are partially assembled. Each item includes detailed instructions that are easy to follow so that you can complete the final assembly. You will want to have a drill or screwdriver to complete the assembly. All necessary hardware is included with the exception of anchor supports. Depending on soil conditions, arbors can be secured with concrete footings or pressure treated wood stakes that are buried in-ground.
Cedar is a dependable choice for outdoor furniture, either as a finished or unfinished wood. Over time, unfinished cedar left outdoors will weather to a silvery gray patina. This natural process does not compromise the strength or integrity of the wood. Keep in sunny, dry areas. Use a mix of water, bleach, and household detergent as an efficient wood care treatment for mildew.

Maybe I'm weird but I expect that if you spend [$]. for a bench it should come with enough screws to assemble it, facia boards long enough to form tight corners so that it looks nice and directions that make sense. The bench slats are nailed to the stringers (OK, there was a little spot of glue)instead of screwed. I know this because I had to take it apart to cut the stringer 1/4" shorter so the facia board would fit flush to the front slat. I will concede that it is a nice design, I'm a Virgo, and used to do a lot of woodworking.I wouldn't recommend it unless the manufacturer makes some quality control changes.

This potting bench is well made. The wood is beautiful, but should be sealed before use. Not too hard to put together, but very helpful to have a 2nd person. Sturdy and functional. Can't wait to use it!

Having just spent 3 hours and two trips to the hardware store, all I can say is "buyer beware". When I opened the box, the nails were everywhere, except inside the bag. 12 nails were missing; several wood pieces were chipped; the top work surface was cut too short. What should have been fun to put together was anything but; I feel ripped off.

I recently purchased this bench and put it together this weekend. I followed several reviewers suggestions and first treated it with deck seal before putting it together. Construction took about one hour and was pretty straight forward. Unlike several older reviews, the kit came with enough screws so apparently the company has solved this problem. The bench is now in use at our house and is a well designed, beautiful addition to our world of plants. I would strongly recommend its purchase to anyone who has the need for a well designed and sturdy product.

Potting bench proved to be sturdy,looks good on my deck, and has a good height for working. It arrived with a few nicks that had to be sanded out, but no problem. Took a few hours to put together with a power tool, but I spent the first hour sealing all the pieces so I wouldn't have to do that when its all put together.
It would have really helped if the pieces were stamped or labeled for easier identification. This caused repeating steps because parts were put in the wrong place. I will make a cover for the sink myself. Otherwise, this bench will save me from using my outdoor dining table, and give me a place to store plant items all in
one place when not in use. I plan to cover it in the winter with all my supplies.
